Indeed, Richard is correct. Moreover, the Latin term "fasci" were bundles of
rods carried before the magistrates of Rome. They came to symbolize
authority. Now, when the Chanani and their city of Carthage was destroyed by
the Romans for a continuous blockade at the Gates of Atlas and because of
their monopolistic practices known throughout all of the Mediterranean, they
hated Rome. The fasci came to symbolize the very authority that the Chanani
so utterly despised about Rome. "Chanani" means Canaanite and they referred
