It isn't "their thread", and there is no evidence that anyone on that
group wants the thread. I just looked back to the origin of the
thread, and it was started on 5 July by Peter Zohrab of
alt.mens-rights, which he cross-posted to the bionet group and two
others.

It is plausible that the first message or two had some relevance to
the group, but it hasn't had any since then, which is why the
objections from that group.
