Just to set the record straight, if we really had "head to head competition"
between men and women in the Olympics, and made only TWO exceptions, that
men throw a discus and a shot put that's twice the weight of women, women
would STILL get almost no Gold Medals.
In the last 20 years, they would have gotten only ONE Gold Medal in shot
put, and 4 in discus, PERIOD:
1980 men = 66.64m, women = 69.96m
1984 men = 66.6m, women = 65.36m
1988 men = 68.82m, women = 72.3m
1992 men = 65.12m, women = 70.06m
1996 men = 69.4m, women = 69.66m
You claimed that discus was an example where women outperformed men in the
Olympics, but IGNORED that the man's discus weighs twice as much as the
women's.
Why? Did you think you would get away with it? Or were you confused? Did
you not know about this two fold difference in the weight of the discus?
Even so, look at how close the distances were. Even after giving women an
UNFAIR two fold advantage which no other "birth group" had, they STILL
couldn't beat the men in 1984, and the amount by which they "beat" the men
in 1996 was .26 meters: less than 0.4%.
Isn't it interesting that men still beat women even after women were given
"affirmative action" of 2X?
No, it's revealing. It's a precise example of what happened in the American
labor force when women were given this type of "advantage" with affirmative
action, and American family purchasing power plunged by two thirds. It
improved nothing, and cost much. It trivialized the accomplishments of men,
and it started an unnecessary gender war in which women were the biggest
losers.
