I'd 'love' to take advantage f the 'excuse', inherent, to reread
Marie Curie's Life story, but my Library is presently in boxes, so
I'll have to work from memory.
My recollection is that Marie did find great 'scientific-warmth' in
her Love for her husband, and such did draw her deeply into Science.
I can't say, had their Love not found itself, that it'd've been the
same [neither can anyone else].
But it's my distinct recollection that Marie did the brunt of the
work in separating tiny quantities of Radium and Polonium from tons
and tons of 'mine-slag'.
And she did it while working alone in a seriously-cold, drafty, space
that no one else would even think of working in.
That qualifies here as a Genuine-Hero, right up-there with the small
number of True-Heroes in Science [or any field of endeavor], and
there's nothing you can do about it, Mr. Knight.
As far as 'attributing' the Work Ms. Curie did to the others you've
cited, none of them 'did the actual research' for which Ms. Curie
Deservedly received her Nobel. [There was a guy who tried to usurp
her work, but, fortunately, it's pretty-hard to 'pull the wool over
the eyes' of Science, and the guy ended-up
'running-away-with-his-tail-between-his-legs.]
Among those who you cite are those who most-Honored, and
most-Celebrated, Ms. Curie's work.
So, you're just mean-spiritedly-Wrong, Mr. Knight.
