In a humourous vein, I would nominate:
-boredom
-stress
-bureaucracy
While these may be less impotant then several mentioned, they appear to
act (using data from experiments run by faculty and administration on
gradaute students) synergistically. Moreover, exposure to one is typically
concurrent with exposures to one or both of the others.
Anyone else have any data/theories on this phenomenon?
