Peer Review of Acrylonitrile and Acrolein Scheduled for November 16 and

The next independent peer review meeting held under the International
Toxicity Estimates for Risk (ITER) program of Toxicology Excellence for
Risk Assessment (TERA) will be held on November 16 and 17, 1998 in
Cincinnati, Ohio.  A panel of expert scientists and risk assessors will
review assessments of acrylonitrile and acrolein which were developed as
part of the Priority Substances Program under the Canadian Environmental
Protection Act.

The peer review panel is made up of experts from industry, government,
consulting, and academia, creating a balanced panel, while carefully
managing potential conflict of interest issues.  The meeting will be
open to the public.  Observers are asked to preregister; there is a $50
registration fee to cover the cost of materials and lunch.

This independent peer review is organized by Toxicology Excellence for
Risk Assessment (TERA); a non-profit corporation dedicated to the best
use of toxicity data for risk assessment.  More information about the
