Position:
The Bureau of Environmental Health and
Safety, Division of Health, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is
recruiting for a Public Health Assessor/Toxicologist to conduct public
health assessments, including toxicological investigations and related
activities, to determine actual or potential human health risks from
exposure to toxic substances in the environment or workplace.
Desirable Background:
Master's degree in environmental health,
risk assessment, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, biochemistry,
pharmacology, or a closely related field. Experience conducting public
health assessments and investigations, including toxicological
investigations. Familiarity with the ATSDR public health assessment
process. Experience developing public education materials, including
press
releases and public health advisories. Experience writing public health
assessment reports and related technical documents. Experience
communicating environmental health risks to impacted populations and
individuals. Ability to work with communities.
Salary: $48,000 - $52,000 per year
depending on experience.
