DESCRIPTION
Outstanding opportunity for Ph.D. level toxicologist with five-plus years of
pharmaceutical drug development experience to apply and expand skills and to
grow professionally. Play a key role leading a protein-therapeutic
toxicology group within an organization recognized as a world leader in drug

International drug discovery company (biotechnology division).
LOCATION
San Francisco Bay Area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
High profile discovery-and-development toxicology leadership role for
design, implementation, interpretation and reporting safety profiles for
biotech-based therapeutics. Supervise four direct scientist-reports. Lead
within a strongly team oriented, cross-functional and collaborative
environment completing preclinical safety evaluations of protein
therapeutics for regulatory submission. Would set up test systems and design
and conduct experiments meeting requirements of FDA, European and Japanese
agencies. Use superlative interpersonal and communication skills to interact
effectively with regulatory representatives, direct reports,
multidisciplinary in-house and international colleagues, and contract teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Toxicologist with Ph.D. and 5 or more years of pharmaceutical industry
experience (or equivalent education and experience) well versed in designing
and interpreting drug safety evaluations. Thorough knowledge of GLP and
international regulatory requirements. Excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to be an interdisciplinary collaborator and a leader who can teach
and guide staff and establish systems for fast track drug development.
Ability to see the drug development "big picture."
DESIRED
Experience with protein and peptide based therapeutics. Exposure to European
regulatory agencies.
