In the testis there is a blood-testis barrier formed by the Sertoli cells
which prevents the paternal lymphocytes from reaching the developing
spermatids and mounting an immune reaction against the spermatids.
Is there a similar barrier in the female which keeps lymphocytes away
from the oocyte or ootid? E.g., do the follicle cells form a
blood-oocyte barrier?
