POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN DEVELOPMENTAL GENETICS:

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study
T-DNA insertional mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana defective in
embryogenesis. Over 25 tagged embryonic mutants of Arabidopsis
have been identified by screening Ken Feldmann's population of
transgenic plants for defects in seed development. Results of
initial studies have been published in Plant Cell (3: 149-157;
857-866). Additional mutants with a wide range of interesting
embryonic defects have recently been identified. Preliminary
analysis indicates that some of these mutants are also tagged.
The purpose of this postdoctoral position is to assist with
developmental and molecular analysis of tagged mutants with
particularly interesting patterns of abnormal development.
Applicants should have extensive training in molecular biology.
Previous experience with Arabidopsis genetics is not required.
Oklahoma State University has modern research facilities and a
strong interdisciplinary program in plant biology. Stillwater
is a pleasant community located 90 minutes from both Tulsa and
Oklahoma City. Applicants should send resume, names of three
references, and a brief description of research interests to:
Dr. David Meinke, Department of Botany, Oklahoma State
University, Stillwater, OK 74078 (phone 405-744-6549; FAX 405-
744-7673).
