Postdoctoral Position
University of California, Berkeley-USDA
Plant Gene Expression Center
A postdoctoral position is currently available for in-depth biochemical,
molecular and genetic studies on the tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) resistance
gene N.  We have recently isolated the N gene (Cell, in press) and work
will focus on the putative N mediated signal transduction pathway leading
to disease resistance and on the biochemical characteristics of the N
product.  Applicants should have experience in biochemistry, molecular
biology and/or cell biology but prior work with plants is not a
requirement.  A cover letter describing research experience and interests,
