Postdoctoral Position
Boyce Thompson Institute at Cornell
A postdoctoral position is available to develop Arabidopsis as a system for
studying the molecular genetics of indolic secondary metabolism. This
laboratory is using the available tryptophan biosynthetic mutants, cloned
genes and biochemical reagents (see J. Biol. Chem. 1995 270:6081-6097;
Arabidopsis 1994 Cold Spring Harbor Press Monograph 27 pp. 835-879) to
further our understanding of indolic secondary metabolism and its
regulation. These studies will also address the biological roles of indolic
metabolites. Experience in biochemistry and phytochemistry is desirable,
however candidates with rigorous training in plant molecular genetics are
encouraged to apply.
