DIG-labeling, lambda phage (clones from Meyerowitz)

Has someone a reliabel!! protocol for the hybridization of southern blots 
using the digoxigenin system? I am working with the lambda clones from 
Meyerowitz and colleages. As the insert is large (up to 7 kb) and I have 
no information about the sequence, labeling with a PCR reaktion does not 
work. 
I am grateful for every hint
