Questions: database development

As announced on this forum, the Arabidopsis database recently moved to
Stanford.

In preparing our strategy for developing the database, we'd be interested
in the community's reponses to the following questions:

1. What do you see as the two or three most needed Web-based features
(analysis-tools, types of data, etc.) for your use of Arabidopsis
information?

And, for those current users of the Macintosh or UNIX version of AAtDB
(the previously created ACE-based database):

2. Would you download periodic updates to the database (>30MB)?

3. If downloading, would you get the Macintosh or UNIX version (or both).

Thank you for your time in answering these questions. Please respond to me
via e-mail at flanders at genome.stanford.edu

P.S. For those of you that are so inclined, WWW forms have recently been
placed on AtDB (http://genome-www.stanford.edu/) to enable users to
perform BLAST and FASTA searches on _just_ Arabidopsis sequences.
