POST-DOCTORAL POSITION - CNRS , GIF-SUR-YVETTE, FRANCE
MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY OF AQUAPORINS IN ARABIDOPSIS

Dear Colleagues,

This is an announcement of a POST-DOCTORAL POSITION to work on the
MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY OF AQUAPORINS IN ARABIDOPSIS
in the laboratory of Dr Christophe MAUREL,
CNRS, Gif-surYvette, France.

The position starts in september, 1998 and is funded for two years
in the context of a EU Biotechnology contract.

Current research in the group includes the molecular and functional
characterisation of water channel proteins called aquaporins and the
study of their regulation and physiological role in planta.
The objective of this project is to isolate and characterise,
by a combination of molecular and physiological approaches,
T-DNA insertion mutants of aquaporin genes in Arabidopsis.

A strong background in molecular biology and in Arabidopsis genetics
is preferred. Additionnal skills in physiology and biophysics would be
appreciated. Applicants should send by Email to Dr Christophe Maurel
(maurel at isv.cnrs-gif.fr) a curriculum vitae, a description of previous
research experience and names and addresses of two possible referees.

The research will be carried out at the Institut des Sciences V=E9g=E9tales
in Gif-sur-Yvette. The institute is part of a large CNRS campus, in a nice
location 25 km south of Paris. More can be learned about this position
