	GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP

	A graduate research & teaching assistantship is available at the
Horticultural Sciences Department, University of Florida, Gainesville.  The
assistantship is at the Ph.D. level for a candidate with a Masters degree.
Research work will focus on vital metabolic pathways in plants that are
potential targets for herbicide action.  Research methods include protein
purification and enzyme assays, cDNA cloning and metabolic engineering.
The ideal candidate will be motivated in plant physiology research as well
as interested in assisting in undergraduate Horticulture laboratory and
field classes. The assistantship is restricted to US citizens and permanent
residents only and requires a minimum total of 1000 in verbal and
quantitative parts of GRE.  The assistantship will pay $12,000 per year.
Starting date is negotiable.
