Faculty Position in Plant Genomics Group
The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) is a not-for-profit
research with interests in structural, functional, and comparative
analysis of genomes and gene products in viruses, eubacteria, pathogenic
bacteria, archaea, and eukaryotes, both plant and animal (see
http://www.tigr.org). TIGR is located in the vicinity of Washington DC,
and is composed of four academic departments with more than 165 staff and
faculty members. The goal of TIGR is to bring scientists together in a
collaborative environment to identify and characterize novel genes and
gene families through the application of DNA sequence analysis,
bioinformatics, gene expression and model organism studies. The Plant
Genomics group is expanding and is seeking an outstanding individual to
fill a faculty position, at entry or senior level.
Scope of Research:
Genomic and EST sequencing projects.
Annotation, analysis and presentation of genomic and EST sequence data.
Application of microarray technology to plant genomes.
Ph.D. degree and Postdoctoral research experience.
Plant Molecular Biology experience desirable.
Adaptability and versatility are important. Strong computer skills
Ability to work well with other employees and team members in a
