--Queens College of the City University of New York--

The City University of New York (CUNY) is undertaking a major
initiative in the biosciences. The University is recruiting tenure-
track faculty into three focus areas: macromolecular assemblies,
neurosciences, and cell signaling and regulation. These areas
build upon well-funded research themes at the CUNY campuses.

As part of this initiative, The Department of Biology of the Queens
College-CUNY campus seeks a faculty member to begin Fall, 2002
or Spring, 2003. While candidates at the Assistant Professor level
are preferred, highly qualified candidates at more senior levels will
be considered. Responsibilities will include the establishment of
an active, independent, extramurally funded research program in
the areas of cellular signaling or regulation using a model genetic
system currently being studied by research faculty at the College:
yeast, plants, nematodes, fish, mammals, or Dictyostelium. The
successful candidate must have a doctoral degree, post-doctoral
experience, and a strong record of research accomplishment, and
should demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate (M.A. and Ph.D.) levels.
Salary ranges are commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Applicants should indicate that they are applying for
the Cell Signaling position at Queens College, and should submit a
Curriculum vitae, including a full list of publications and
presentations, a research proposal, and have three current letters
of recommendation forwarded to:
                                                 Dean Spiro Alexandratos
                                                 c/o Ms. Mabel Chee
                                                 City University of New York
                                                 Office of Academic Affairs
                                                 535 East 80th Street
                                                 New York, NY 10021

Complete applications, including recommendation letters, should
be received by April 30, 2002. Questions regarding this position
