Dow AgroSciences, a leading company in crop protection and pest management
located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is look for a highly motivated molecular
biologist to fill a position in the Plant Transformation and Gene Expression
Department to support the production of high quality transgenic events.

Primary responsibilities include the construction of complex transformation
vectors and the isolation and characterization of promoters that direct high
levels of tissue-specific expression.  Additional research will involve the
development of novel methods to optimize gene expression in maize and
cotton. Areas of interest include gene silencing, site-specific
recombination and plastid gene expression

Qualifications:  M. S. or a B. S. degree in biology/molecular biology or
related fields, and two to five years laboratory experience emphasizing
molecular biology is required. Expertise in the following areas: vector
design and construction, PCR methods, promoter cloning and manipulation, and
RNA techniques including quantitative RT-PCR. Demonstrated leadership
ability, outstanding communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
are necessary.  The candidate must also have the ability to work well in a
team-based environment. This position requires a strong sense of customer
focus and a commitment to delivering high quality results.
