The Arabidopsis Information Portal (AIP) is a recently-funded NSF project to develop a new portal for the integration and analysis of a diverse set of data types. The AIP Group at the J. Craig Venter Institute is seeking an Arabidopsis biologist with a background in genomics and interests in data management and bioinformatics to serve as a biocurator on the AIP project. This individual would work with a team of bioinformaticians to provide advice and assistance on the management and deployment of large data sets from community contributors, on the functionality of and extensions to the user interface, as manager of the community annotation portal and as the first responder to community requests for help and advice. The position provides an opportunity for a wet lab biologist to gain new skills and transition into the field of bioinformatics. Interested individuals should apply through the JCVI web site (https://careers.jcvi.org/careers/) to position PLAN996. This position was posted previously under the heading "Bioinformatics Analyst".
