POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN WHEAT GENOMICS

University of Liverpool, Centre for Genomic Research,

The candidate will play a key role in an International research grant 
entitled “Combining field phenotyping and next generation genetics to 
uncover markers, genes and biology underlying drought tolerance in 
wheat”.

The project is led by Professor Anthony Hall in collaboration with the 
University of Lancaster and Rothamsted and the Indian Directorate of 
Wheat Research. The project is £1.2M and is part of a joint investment 
by BBSRC (UK) and DBT (India) in the area of crop genomics. The project 
aims to take next generation genetic approaches to indentify molecular 
markers associated with drought tolerance.

You will have a PhD in Biological Science with a focus on Computational 
Biology or Genetics. You should have experience in quantitative genetics 
and/or next
generation sequence data analysis, excellent written and verbal 
communication skills and be able to work independently. The post is 
available until 27 February 2018.
