Various postdoctoral positions are now available in the Department of
Imaging Research at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (fully
affiliated with the University of Toronto). Sunnybrook is a hospital-
based research institute dedicated to the advancement of medical
sciences. The Imaging Research Department is a highly
multidisciplinary group with the aim to use physics, mathematics and
engineering principles to develop and advance imaging technologies
being utilized to diagnose and assess disease, and to guide and
monitor therapies such as minimally invasive surgeries. The goal is to
develop new techniques of noninvasive surgery with focused ultrasound.
Therapeutic applications involve blood vessel occlusion, clot
dissolve, brain cancer and cardiac applications among many others. The
research projects conducted in the laboratory include in vitro, animal
and clinical protocols. Main postdoctoral opened opportunities include
the following areas:

Ultrasound/MR imaging.
Multimodality imaging and image-guided therapy.
Design and development of ultrasound transducers.
Image processing.
Modeling of ultrasound bioeffects.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be working in a fast-growing department
whose goal is to offer clinical devices and solutions involving
ultrasound techniques. The candidate will have a good opportunity to
participate in a highly active and multidisciplinary environment aimed
at changing the face of clinical treatment of disease.
