[Employment] Postdoc Position in Computational Biochemistry & Biophysics - Manhattan, KS

A Research Associate position is available in the Computational
Biochemistry & Biophysics Group at Kansas State University to conduct
research on theoretical and computational study of biological systems.
Specific projects may include development of novel solvation and
protein models as well as application of these models to simulate
protein conformational equilibrium and dynamics in biologically
relevant conditions.

The ideal candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or
related fields with a strong background in physical chemistry and at
least some training in biochemistry, biophysics, or structural
biology.

Successful applicants will have experience in molecular simulation and
standard molecular mechanics software packages such as Amber, CHARMM,
Gromacs, or NAMD. Strong computational skills are desired including
scientific programming experience and experience with UNIX
environments. An ideal candidate would be highly competent in a number
of programming and scripting languages such as C++, FORTRAN, perl, and
python.  Candidate must also display exceptional motivation and the
ability and desire to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good oral and written communication skills are essential.

The position will be available beginning October 2007.  The initial
appointment is one year and might be renewed depending on mutual
interest and funding.  Applications must include a cover letter
