We are looking for a Lead Medical Technologist Supervisor - must be MT, or MLT
or CLS from ASCP or AMT or NCA.   This is a Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm
shift!
 
Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory and the direct
supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor or designated Shift Supervisor, the
Lead Medical Technologist provides clinical laboratory services and immediate
supervision to assigned laboratory section in accordance with accepted
practices of Departmental and Hospital standards of care, with further
responsibilities including involvement in departmental inventory, validation of
monthly quality control, new procedures and /or equipment. The tasks and
responsibilities include:

-Processes specimens, prepares reagents, performs testing procedures; reports
and interprets test results. 
-Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. 
-Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for
test methods. 
-Works with Physician to analyze results and conduct more difficult,
non-routine tests. 
-Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists as
needed. 
-Orients and mentors new staff members. 
-Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications 
-Required Job Qualifications include:
-Must have completed the Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or
related Science Field. Must be registered with ASCP or equivalent registry.  
-Must have a minimum of two years previous experience in a medical laboratory 
with a hospital setting preferred.
-Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with
minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. 
-Strong team work and collaboration abilities.
