This position is primarily to support the New Technology Research and
Development (NTRD) program for the State of Texas. The primary
objective of the NTRD program is to promote the development of
commercially available NOx reduction technologies that will support
projects that may be funded under the Texas Emissions Reduction
Program (TERP). Currently, the NTRD program encompasses 23 active
projects with a total contract value exceeding $12 million.
Education: Masters Degree in an engineering discipline required. Ph.D.
preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years R&D experience, the majority in a
product development and project management environment. Experience in
commercial vehicle or heavy equipment engineering is preferred.
Other Skills: Exceptional ability to organize and manage teams;
demonstrated ability to interact with sponsors and clients; excellent
written and verbal communication skills in English; proven effective
presentation ability. An ability and desire to develop new programs
and funding sources in support of HARC's mission.
Additional qualifications/information: Up to 25% travel required; must
be eligible to work in the United States. Every member of the HARC
scientific staff are expected to publish at least one article a year
in a professional venue.
Duties include, but are not limited to: use of professional knowledge
and skills in NTRD grant project management and oversight; employing
current concepts and principles to achieve project objectives and
sustainable outcomes in creative and effective ways; assisting the
contract management team in negotiating scope of work, timeline, and
deliverables for new NTRD grant projects; performing site visits at
NTRD grant recipient locations, for project kickoff and/or major
milestone reviews; reviewing progress to ensure NTRD grant projects
are focused on reaching objectives; and developing and participating
in additional research activities related to HARC's mission.
