A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory for Oncologic
Sciences Program, to conduct collaborative research. This is a post-
graduate entry-level position in which the individual is responsible
for assisting with research activities as well as conducting
independent research projects when appropriate, under limited
supervision.
The successful candidate will conduct research on signal transduction
leading to chemotherapeutic resistance, oncogenic mechanisms, drug
target evaluation, and understand the role of the Rho family of
GTPases in cancer progression. Qualified candidates should have a
recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cellular/Molecular Biology and
Biochemistry or related field with a strong background in molecular
biology, cell biology, immunology, and/or pharmacology and experience
in cell culture and animal models of human cancer. The candidate will
be expected to perform and evaluate data from microarray analyses,
perform CHIP experiments and expression analyses using real-time PCR,
and Western Blotting. The candidate should be self-motivated and
committed to scientific research. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills are essential in addition to independent problem
solving and a strong commitment to team oriented research.
