Postdoctoral Position in Neuroscience - Harvard Medical School

A postdoctoral fellow position is available at Harvard Medical School,
to expand the existing research on the GPR56 signaling in brain
development. GPR56 is an orphan G protein-coupled receptor and its
signaling pathway remains elusive. We have previously demonstrated
that mutations in the GPR56 gene cause a specific human brain
malformation called bilateral frontoparietal polymicrogyria (BFPP).
Our unpublished data indicate that GPR56 facilitates cell and
extracellular matrix interaction to maintain pial basement membrane
integrity. The prospective postdoctoral fellow will join the current
team to unravel the signaling pathway of GPR56. Successful candidates
will apply his/her knowledge in neuroscience, histology, and mouse
brain development to evaluate various promising candidate genes in
mouse models. An outstanding salary and benefits package is included,
with the salary level commensurate with experience. Interested
applicants with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. should send a brief description of
research interests and curriculum vitae that includes contact
information for three references.
