Need help, high school student

Hi my name is Heather, I am interested in doing a research project using 
C. elegans.  I am an eager and enthusiastic about science and read some
things about this wonerful nemetode.  I plan to work on it for at least 1
year or even 3 if possible.
Can anyone recommend a starting-type project, that could be started and
carried out in a high school lab situation?  I would also like to become a
member of your newsgroup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
