protein determination is nuclei?

I have been measuring the protein concentration of whole cell lysates prepared in triton lysis buffer. I am aware that these lysis conditions do not lyse the nuclei. However, I have been taking the
lysate and diluting it upto 300 fold in distilled water prior to measuring the protein (using a standard Bradford assay from Bio-rad) and have assumed that the nuclei will simply burst under osmotic
pressure. Can anybody tell me if this is right or if there is a better way to do this.

Thanks.
