Oregan-R is a wild-type strain (no mutants)
y is yellow body color, unless your teacher is using it for something
else.
yellow body is a bit tricky until you get used to it. One of the
yellow alleles produces yellow bristles and yellow wings too. If
you're using that allele you're lucky. Put a wildtype fly and a yellow
fly side by side and look at the wings. Yellow's pretty easy to see in
the wing. Once you've spotted it you should have no problem.
