Position:  Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) GS-404-05
Duty Station:  Fort Collins, CO


     This position is in the Repellent Project of the Bird Research
Section at the National Wildlife Research Center.  The project is 
responsible for the discovery, evaluation and formulation of nonlethal 
animal repellents for use as tools to minimize damage caused by wildlife to 
agriculture and industry.  The incumbent will participate and collaborate 
on field and laboratory research projects.  The incumbent must be able to 
(with minimal supervision):   maintain accurate notes, objectively monitor 
animal behavior, take and properly handle biological and chemical samples 
for laboratory analysis, and identify wild animals.  The incumbent will 
assist in conducting animal feeding and drinking experiments, and must be 
able to understand directions involving physiological and chemical 
techniques.  Further duties require the incumbent to organize and tabulate 
research data, and procure field and laboratory equipment and supplies 
necessary for completion of the research.
