GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP
A Graduate Research Assistantship will be available summer semester or fall
semester 1999 to conduct research as part of an international team
investigating the effects of elevated atmospheric CO2 on an oak/palmetto
scrub ecosystem in central Florida. The experiment, which has been underway
for more than two years at John F. Kennedy Space Center, involves the use of
large open-top chambers. The successful applicant for this position will be
quantifying root responses using minirhizotron technology in conjunction
with their masters thesis or doctoral dissertation. The total financial aid
package will be $ 13,000 per year plus full tuition waiver for doctoral
