Postdoctoral Research Position in Stream Ecology
Postdoctoral Scientist, Stream Ecology. Participate in an
interdisciplinary, multi-scale research program examining the direct
and indirect effects of flow on the ecology of benthic stream
organisms.*
Desired attributes: excellent communication skills;
knowledge of experimental design, statistical analysis, and taxonomy
of freshwater benthic macroinvertebrates; understanding of
boundary-layer fluid dynamics; strong technical skills (e.g.,
hot-film anemometry, acoustic Doppler velocimetry). Ability to work
independently, in team settings, and to direct the work of others.
Suitable candidate may also have opportunities to participate in other
basic and applied ecological research programs being conducted in the
Patrick Center.

Position available beginning Summer/Fall 1999 for 2-yr. minimum
commitment.
