Postdoctoral position at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA.
The primary responsibility of this position is to work as member of a team
assembling a genetic linkage map for an intermated population of maize.
The role of this position will depend on the strengths and objectives of
the successful applicant. The research emphasizes maize with opportunities
in high resolution genetic mapping, recombination, quantitative trait loci
and candidate genes, comparative mapping, and molecular genetic analyses of
the recombinant inbred lines and their hybrid progeny (heterosis).
Appointment: The position is funded for two years at $24-30,000 per year
and is available immediately.
Qualifications: Ph.D. and excellent computer skills with a strong
background in one of the following areas; transmission genetics,
quantitative genetics, statistics, biochemistry, or molecular biology.
