WANTED: Graduate Student to work on developmental control of Ac/Ds
transposable elements in plants.
An research assistantship is available for interested students who
want to combine genetics and molecular biology graduate training in the
study of plants. The project examines an unusual mutation that gradually
suppresses transposon activity as plant development progresses. This
suppression is reset and then repeated each generation. This position is
for a student to help clone the mutation for further analysis and will
involve learning genomics techniques in addition to more traditional
studies.
The successful applicant should have completed a bachelor's or
master's degree and have completed courses in genetics and molecular
biology with high marks. For more information about the position and the
project, contact Cliff Weil at cweil at uidaho.edu
