Plant Sciences
Iowa State University, a leading land-grant university, announces a
major initiative in the plant sciences. Building upon its traditional
strengths in fundamental and applied plant sciences, Iowa State
University is committed to being a leading plant science research
center. Iowa State University is seeking to add 25 new faculty
positions during the next three years as part of the plant sciences
initiative.
Unless otherwise specified: All positions may be filled at the
assistant, associate, or full professor level and are tenured or
tenure-track with competitive start-up packages. Successful
candidates will be expected to develop energetic, internationally
recognized, extramurally funded research programs in their area of
specialization, and will be expected to effectively train graduate
students and participate in teaching programs at the graduate and/or
undergraduate levels. Departmental and college affiliations will be
determined in consultation with the candidate at the time of hire.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Ph.D. in an
appropriate discipline is required. At the associate and full
professor levels, preference will be given to applicants with a
demonstrated record of competitive extramural funding. To apply, in

Four Positions in Plant Responses to Stress: Conduct fundamental
research at the genetic, molecular, and/or biochemical levels on how
plants sense and/or respond to biotic or abiotic stresses. Submit

One Position in Bioinformatics or Biological Statistics: Conduct
fundamental research in computational molecular biology. Submit

Two Positions in Statistical Genetics/Computational Molecular
Biology: Conduct a nationally competitive research program on
statistical approaches to areas such as bioinformatics, genomics,
functional and post-genomic analyses, molecular evolution, protein
structure/function prediction, population genetics. Joint appointment
in the Departments of Statistics and Zoology and Genetics. Submit

One Position in Computational Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics:
