1) Staff Scientist
Iowa State University
One opening is immediately available for an Assistant Scientist
position in the MicroArray Facility of Plant Science Institute at
Iowa State University. Duties include to conduct protocols related
to project goals, keep a steady supply of maize microarray chips,
interact with facility users and computer support staff to provide
training and services, survey and evaluate new technologies related
to the field and implement protocols based on the analysis, ensure
proper maintenance of equipment and update of application software.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genetics or a related field
and four years of relevant professional experience, or related
Master's degree and two years of relevant professional experience.
Extensive knowledge in molecular biology techniques and basic
computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively in both written
and oral modes and ability to work independently.
Preferred: Experience with Genomics research and technologies.=A0

2) Research Associate
Iowa State University
One position available immediately to conduct research applying
microscopy, in-situ hybridization, immunolocalization and Laser
Capture Microscopy (LCM) techniques. Duties include conducting
protocols related to project goals, performing experimental work in
laboratory, greenhouse and genetic nursery field plots, providing lab
users with training and services, interacting with staff members at
the Laser Capture Microscopy facility to learn the technique and the
proper use of the equipment, surveying and evaluating new
technologies related to the field and implement protocols based on
the analysis, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and updating
of application software.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genetics or related field
with one year of related experience. Knowledge of plant biology,
experience with microscopy research and technologies, and a
familiarity with molecular biology techniques and basic computer
skills.
Preferred: Master's degree in related fields; experience with such as
in-situ hybridization, and immunolocalization.
