I am working on a history of science document and want to know if the
following statement is reasonably accurate:

James L. Reid, born near Russellville (1844), Ohio,
developed the world famous variety of corn known as Reid's
Yellow Dent. Most of todays hybrid corns were derived from
Yellow Dent.
