The NSF has just announced a new program in plant genomics for young
investigators (Ph.D. after Jan. 1997) who hold tenure or non-tenure
track independent positions at US colleges or universities.
Individual awards of up to $225,000 per year or collaborative
proposals of up to $350,000 are available; proposal deadline is May
1, 2002, with a start of September 30, 2002. The program intention is
to promote collaboration with and use of data generated in existing
plant genome projects. The program particularly wishes to encourage
participation by individuals at institutions that are not currently
funded in plant genomics.
