The newly-formed Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology
at Iowa State University (http://www.gdcb.iastate.edu) invites
applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor
level in plant cell and molecular biology. Of particular interest are
candidates with research focusing on the biology of the nucleus,
including transcription, chromatin remodeling, cell-cycle regulation,
nuclear transport and metabolism, centromere and telomere function,
transposition and recombination. This position is affiliated with
the Plant Sciences Institute (http://www.plantsciences.iastate.edu),
an umbrella organization for plant research at Iowa State.
Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. or equivalent and
postdoctoral experience. Candidates will be expected to establish a
vigorous, extramurally funded research program and to participate in
graduate and undergraduate education. First-rate laboratory space
and generous startup support are available.
