POSITION: Postdoctoral Associate I

SALARY: commensurate with experience.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
We are currently utilizing the maize transposable element Ac to clone
and characterize genes in a large mutagenesis program (see
http://bti.cornell.edu/Brutnell_lab2/Projects/Tagging/BMGG_pro_tagging.html
). The successful candidate will oversee the development of this
program with the primary responsibility of developing new PCR-based
techniques to facilitate the cloning and characterization of tagged
genes. The candidate will also begin phenotypic characterizations of
select Ac-induced mutations. Experience with maize genetics not
necessary but preferable.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D.. in genetics, horticulture, biology, or related
field. This position requires excellent organizational skills,
ability to troubleshoot, and careful record keeping.
