Dear maize enthusiasts,
This is an invitation to participate of the 2011 NCCC167 - Corn Breeding
group meeting to be held at Pheasant Run Resort, St. Charles, Illinois
beginning at 1PM on Wednesday, March 16th and continuing until 5PM on
Thursday March 17th, 2011. Details about the program, presentations and
meeting and lodging registration are listed below and will be made available
through our web site sometime soon:

MEETING REGISTRATION:
Please me (Sherry.Flint-Garcia from ars.usda.gov) or Natalia de Leon
(ndeleongatti from wisc.edu) for the registration form and payment address.
Please register by 5PM CST February 13th. Registration fee is $100 per
scientist and $75 per student/post-doc. This cost of registration includes
meeting cost, session breaks and breakfast and lunch on Thursday.
PROGRAM:
A detailed schedule of presentation will become available at a later time.
The overall format for this year's meeting includes individual (30 min)
presentations during the afternoon of Wednesday and Round-table open
discussion on the morning of Thursday. There will be time for more
presentations during the afternoon of Thursday, if needed. The meeting will
conclude with a business meeting.
PRESENTATIONS:
To present a volunteered oral presentation (20-25 minutes) at the 2011
NCCC167 meeting, please email the title and names of authors (presenting
author marked with an asterisk), and author's affiliation to Natalia de Leon
(ndeleongatti from wisc.edu) by 5PM CST on January 31st. The abstract submission
deadline is 5PM CST on February 13th to ndeleongatti from wisc.edu. Abstract
should have a maximum of 300 words.
LODGING:
A block of rooms has been reserved for this event at the Pheasant Run Resort
(http://www.pheasantrun.com/) for the nights of March 15th and 16th. Please
call their reservations' number (630-584-6300 or 800-474-3272) and request
the special rate assigned to the "North Central Region - Corn Breeding
group". For those of you participating of the Maize Genetics Conference
(beginning immediately after our meeting concludes), please note that you
need to do a separate hotel reservation for the NCCC167 portion of your stay
at the hotel. Notify them that you are planning to stay at the hotel for the
MGC meeting, so they can link the two reservations and be able to keep the
same room throughout your entire stay. Rates for the NCCC167 portion are
$105 dollars/night for single and double occupancy and $115 dollars/night
for triple and quad occupancy. This rate is guaranteed until Sunday
February 13th 2011.
