Dear Maize Cooperators,

Prof. Camellia Okpodu at Norfolk State University is looking for collaborators to increase minority participation in maize research. Dr. Okpodu is developing an Education and Outreach grant proposal for the Department of Education. She needs letters of support from the maize community for this proposal.

The grant would be engaging undergraduate students in research projects at Norfolk State U. One of the project goals is to enable additional research experiences at maize laboratories throughout the country. If you have a grant that has an undergraduate training component, please contact Camellia (cseko4 from gmail.com<mailto:cseko4 from gmail.com>) to see if your program could take 1-2 students from Norfolk State U. for summer internships.

Thank you,
A. Mark Settles
