luminous pen instead of radioactivity

Dear everybody,

there was a thread about luminous pens as an attractive alternative for
radioactive markers some time ago. 
Last week I popped into the two arts suppliers here and they both proved to
me beyond doubt, that they can not exist (I won't go into the reasoning,
but it was pretty annoying).
So who ever uses some, could they please get back to me with a brand, 
company, or some specifics. Do you really need luminous paint or is this 
stuff ravers put on their faces which glows under UV-light good enough? I 
didn't feel trying anything out for my good money, after all that arguing.
