: built/robust (nothing has broken in 2 years). My only adverse comments are
: (1) that the combs are fairly thin (approx 1mm) - as one of the combs is
: spaced equal to a multichannel pipette, it is potentially great for rapid
: loading but you have to aim your 8 channel pipette perfectly or else... (2)
: you need to run TBE gels, not TAE ones.
You can run it w/ TAE, but you need a circulation unit (pump the buffer
to the other electrode), but I've never tried.
Also there's the possibility to perform quick-southerns in a
microtiter centrifuge (think the orig proc. was in Nucl. Ac. res. ?)
But I was REALLY sad that the unit doesn't fit in our centrifuge (a
Sigma w/ microtiter support)
(I think they recommend beckman and a few others). So be careful
if you intend doing that - check the sizes before!
: No affiliation, just a satisfied user.
Me mostly, too
Cheers Sebastian
