Good alignment program?

A series of four alignment programs have been evaluated recently by
Osamu Gotoh (J Mol Biol, 1996 264:823).  The commonly used algorithms do
not come out as well as other less accessible ones.

BTW, has anyone adapted Gotoh's DNR method to a Macintosh?
