transient transfection:effect of plasmid dna?

Did someone ever notice an influence of plasmid dna quality (here: ratio
covalently closed circular versus open circular dna) on transient transfection
of mammalian cells?

I noticed that two plasmid purification kits (both anion exchange types) had
markedly different yields of ccc plasmid dna vs oc.
