GC-Melt

The January 1997 issue of Clontech's "CLONTECHniques" describes a new
PCR kit called "Advantage-GC" which contains a new reagent which they
call GC-Melt. This reagent allows one to obtain PCR products from
high GC templates. It destabilizes DNA and also isostabilizes DNA
(makes AT and GC base pairs equally stable). They say it is not DMSO.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this stuff is? I would buy some
for a reasonable price, but it seems to only be offered as part of a
$400 kit.
