A database listing over 1500 streptococcal strains and their
characteristics is now located at:

This resource presents information about strains that have been
used in basic research of the genus Streptococcus during the
last 70 years.
Information about each strain in the database includes:
1. Group (Group A, C, G, etc.)
2. Hemolysis (alpha, gamma, etc.)
3. M type (M protein serotype)
4. Disease association (Rheumatic fever, nephritis, impetigo, etc.)
5. Site of Isolation (Throat or skin)
6. Year of Isolation (1920's to the present)
