bacterial hydrogen production

A student in my micro course is interested in looking at hydrogen
production by bacteria as a possible fuel source. Seems like Clostridia
would be logical organisms to look at, but I have no background in
anaerobes. Does anyone have any suggestions for (a) references on
biohydrogen production, with possible uses as a fuel, or (b) practical
applications of biohydrogen production? Many thanks. Tom Terry, Dept.
